Artist Statement

In all my works I wish to create a storyline, whether it be fictional or part of my own life. Throughout most of my life, I have loved almost every story I’ve been told. I’ve appreciated each part of the story, how the person gives emphasis to some parts, and the way that it can go off into different tangents. When I create my work I feel the need to create a piece that can truly convey either a scene or the full story. 

 

Since I grew up watching cartoons and seeing my siblings play 8-bit games, I find myself wanting to recreate those styles. With my animations, illustrations, and videos it can be easy to recreate these styles especially since I use references and am able to do most of them digitally using the programs Procreate or MidiBang Paint. With my metals though, it can be harder to recreate these styles using copper and brass, yet I do believe I have been able to create a piece of a story through them.
